Kaia David manages a team of extreme environment materials technologists focusing on Boeing’s internal and external research and development portfolio in thermal protective systems.  In this capacity, she is responsible for generating new business through shaping proposals and interacting with current and prospective customers and partners, as well as ensuring that the R&D portfolio meets the needs of Boeing programs.  In her past life as an engineer, she managed FAA, NASA, and internal ceramic matrix composite R&D programs with budgets up to $2.6M, and co-chaired the CMH-17 Volume 5 Materials Working Group.  She is on the advisory committee for the National Space and Missile Materials Systems (NSMMS) conference.

Kaia received Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Engineering degrees from Harvey Mudd College.  She has presented numerous papers at various technical conferences including the Annual Conference on Composites, Materials, and Structures and NSMMS, and has four patents in ceramic matrix composites and their integration to structure.
