Executive Committee

Tom currently holds the position of Director of Business Development at Specialty Materials, where his responsibilities include sales and marketing of boron and silicon carbide fibers and boron nanopowder.  He received a B.S. in ceramic engineering from Rutgers University, and an MBA from Northeastern University.  His previous experience includes R & D at both Harbison-Walker's Garber Research Center and at Bay State Abrasives; plus sales, marketing, and
strategic planning at Bay State and Textron Corporation. 

 


 

Secretary - Kent W. Buesking

Kent BueskingMr. Buesking has more than 30 years experience in composite materials research and development.  At Materials Research & Design, which he and Dr. Brian Sullivan founded in 1996, he is responsible for several programs related to modeling, design, and analysis of advanced materials for extreme environments.  Recent efforts have focused on the design of ceramic matrix composite turbine engine components, analysis of zero-erosions solid rocket nozzles, and the evaluation of hybrid heatshield materials.  Mr. Buesking is the author or co-author of more than 50 technical publications including "Carbon-Carbon Composites"
published in the 1994 Annual Review of Materials Science.  He was an invited speaker at the first US-French Carbon-Carbon conference and has lectured at local universities.  He has developed and taught courses on composite materials to the technical staff of the Federal Aviation Administration.  He is a member of ASME, AIAA, SAMPE, ASM, the American Society for Composites, and the American Ceramic Society.  He received a B.S., Mechanical Engineering from University of Pennsylvania in 1975 and a M.S., Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois in 1976.

Mr. Mandigo is the current USACA Executive Director.  He is also the Executive Vice President of Strategic Marketing Innovations (SMI), which is the executive agent for USACA and which also represents over 100 clients with interests in advanced materials and science and technology. ... More>>
